NATIONAL SPORTSWEAR was establised in 1947 as a felt, Embroidery and Silk Screen Athletic Lettering service company. We catered to many Sports Stores in Northern New Jersey. Our companies originally name was RED DIAMOND CO., named after the infantry division in which our founder served in WWII.
Early in 1955 we started doing all the athletic lettering for Russel Athletic from Main to West Virginia. In 1966 we moved to our present location. We changed from an athletic lettering service company to a factory outlet, calling it NATIONAL SPORTSWEAR, screening and embroidering only the sportswear and team uniforms we sold. Our current showroom, located in the corner of our factory building, was opened four years later.

We are a full service company, and all phases of screen printing, laser transfers, embroidery and digitizing is done in our factory. Our Art Department is state-of-the-art, using Mac computers and Cannon CLC color copy machines. Our Screen Section uses the latest in screen making techniques, micro-registration and modern gas driers. NATIONAL SPORTSWEAR sells and decorates all major uniforms, recreational sportswear and accessories.

We were the FIRST to:
▪ Introduce the concept of "Stock Designs" for screen printing and embroidery in 1950.
▪ Use Stretch Plastisol on worn garments under the name "Rub-R-Core" in 1955.
▪ Use Infrared Ovens to cure plastisol in 1955.
To do "In House" digitizing in 1980.
