ABOUT US
About us
NATIONAL SPORTSWEAR
was established in 1947 by Marc S. Tartaglia and Robert Rossetti as a custom outdoor sign and lettering company. Back then it was known as Red Diamond Company, named after the US Third Army (11th Regiment) 5th Infantry Division in which Marc proudly served under General Patton in World War II. As the company grew the need for mass production of signs and lettering became apparent and Red Diamond was among the first to introduce silk screen printing for the production of multiple signs, banners, etc.

Early in 1955, the company diversified into screen printing, embroidery and tackle-twill on garments and textiles and soon began doing all the custom lettering for Russell Athletic on the East coast, as well as supplying to sporting goods stores and advertising specialty firms nationwide. In 1966,
the company moved to its current location in Belleville, New Jersey and opened a factory outlet which sold directly to the public called NATIONAL SPORT SALES. A few years later a newly-renovated showroom was opened and the company changed its name to NATIONAL SPORTSWEAR to reflect the wide and exclusive range of custom printed active wear and embroidered garments it offered.
Today, NATIONAL SPORTSWEAR sells and decorates uniforms for all major sports as well as recreational activewear for schools, teams and clubs, work uniforms for all businesses, and custom garments for any and every event including corporate venues, family reunions, parties, bar & bat mitzvahs…you name it!
